Allowing Camera, Microphone, And Screen Access in system preferences

This article is to teach you how to enable your camera, microphone, or screen recording for an app in system preferences. Uses include video conferencing, Garageband, iMove, etc.

 Instructions

  1. Open System preferences by using spotlight, or click the Apple in the top left and select system preferences in the drop down.

  2. Select the “System and Privacy” Icon

  3. Select the “Privacy” tab at the top

  4. Find the category needed in the left pane and select it

  5. In the right pane put a checkmark next to the app you would like to approve access for

  6. Repeat steps 4-5 for each category an app needs access to (Camera, Microphone, Screen Recording, etc.)
